Light plus bilding exhibition

Individual, colour fast and made-to-measure - these characteristics unite the apparently very different partners, who will be presenting the DoubleDome Catwalk on 13 April from 5 pm onwards on the Sharp stand (Hall 4.2, Stand J71). The main players are the latest designs of the young, innovative fashion label Twinsleyy, the linear lighting solutions from LED Linear and the new DoubleDome LED components from Sharp. All partners will be pursuing the same goal - that of making their clients "glow" with their products, thus putting them into "perspective".
Light + Building, 11 – 16 April 2010 – In addition to patterns and shapes, fashion is very strongly influenced by colours. In the case of clothing, this depends mainly on the way in which they are combined. Fashion designers therefore choose the colour palette of their collection based on their knowledge that colours have a very distinct effect.
The fashion label Twinsleyy plays with these effects selectively and symbolizes modern, colourful and unique fashion. The collection has its own unique mixture of exciting transgression and fun with colours, materials and details. Because clothing should not just dress a person but show their true character.
In order for these effects not to be lost by the artificial lighting in stores, the realistic and constant colour rendering of objects is decisive. In the past, clothing was often given a greenish glimmer by the lighting in shop floors, due to the light produced by fluorescent lamps. These days, thanks to its high CRI values and wide range of diversified colour temperatures, modern LED technology not only puts fashion into perspective: even sparkling objects such as crystal, silver and jewellery can be illuminated in the best possible way and accentuated in a realistic manner.
Sharp in particular offers perfect solutions for the illumination of individual fashion and design. The new white light "High Colour Rendering" high-performance LED series by Sharp, named "DoubleDome", produces suitable light for energy-efficient illumination.
The "DoubleDome" LEDs reach the high CRI value of 85 through the combination of blue LED, with a special mixture of green and red phosphor. The SMD LEDs from the new GM2BBxxBM0C series use this to ensure high colour fastness and depth of detail, which is important in all cases where light must not distort the display of objects.
As different applications also call for different lighting concepts, the "DoubleDome" series is available in three different tones of white, from "warm white" (3,000K), "natural white" (4,000K) to "pure white" (5,000K). In conjunction with the high CRI values, the characteristics of the new LEDS from Sharp with regard to efficiency, colour temperature and the Colour Rendering Index are close to those of conventional fluorescent tubes.
The "DoubleDome" LEDs from Sharp are little bigger than a match head. Their compact construction measures only 2.8 x 2.8 x 1.9 mm yet offers a high degree of brightness. The minimal shape factor and the high CRI value of the new series help lighting designers to achieve new freedom in the design of lamps. The "DoubleDome" series is already used in large volumes in the LED background illumination of LCD televisions and is virtually pre-destined for use in surface illumination, such as ceiling illumination in offices and factories, etc.
Thanks to LED Linear, it was possible for Sharp to line up the LED light source at certain points to cover a long distance. The "catwalk" consists of a total of 7 LED strips measuring 6 metres, each of which produces a different colour temperature of white (from warm to cold white). LED Linear offers innovative, top quality linear LED lighting solutions with a protection rating of up to IP68 on the basis of a flexible circuit board. The products are available with a luminous flux of up to 3000 lm per metre in a length of up to 10 metres. They are ready for immediate use and offer a good cost-benefit ratio. Thanks to individual LED products, LED Linear helps its customers to achieve energy efficient lighting solutions. The flexibility and ease of installation of the LED Linear products create numerous possibilities for them to be used creatively in many areas of application, such as the architectural illumination of indoor and outdoor areas, lighting for stores and exhibitions, built-in lighting in bathroom, kitchen and living room furniture and also UV and salt water resistant solutions for use in shipbuilding.
